Wouldn’t it be nice…

If the newly announced Icom IC-705 could work as remote head for your IC-9700 (IC-76xx and IC-7700) at home. Or even your remotely located IC-7300? Just like Elecraft does wirt the K3 and the K3 head. Of Flex Radio with the Maestro. Or the IC-7100 with some help of a RemoteRig kit… Since all electronics are already in place and the IC-705 is equipped with WiFi and Bluetooth, in the end it’s just adding software. A feature that will boost Icoms’ market share for sure!

  1. I think with the Wireless LAN technology that is supposedly included with the IC-705, that is just a matter of software. I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be possible.

    I would rather it had
    Built in ATU
    bigger battery
    Battery case for AA cells
Input voltage as low as 12v not 13.8
    Two antenna connectors (1 hf/1 2/70)
    For starters……

20 Watts is required on HF due to the lack of sunspots. I know it’s not QRP, KX2 has 12 watts – KX 3 – 15 Bought one and a Xeigu 90 a vogad circuit with 10 watts perhaps.

SGC2020 was great but high failure rate on the Xtal.

Playing with a SParrow at the moment 15 watts with a form of Vogad and the visual spectrum is something else.
